Cormac’s dad makes appeal for help
The family of missing Naas CBS student Cormac Clare have made an impassioned plea for anybody with information about his disappearance to come forward.
As the search for the 18 year old spread out beyond his home area of Kilteel, dad Seamus said the response of the Gardai, Dublin Wicklow and Glen Of Imaal Mountain Rescue and the Civil Defence is “a great comfort to the family.”
He also thanked all of the volunteers, many of them neighbours and friends from Kilteel, Eadestown and Rathmore, who have taken part in the search operation, which began on the afternoon of Monday, October 22.
“The search teams have been well organised and the search has been methodical,” said Mr. Clare.
“Obviously the desired outcome is for him to come back. He’s a kind gentle, lovely lad and this is totally out of character for him,” Mr. Clare told the Leader.
“We want to thank everybody in the community and beyond for helping with the search and also for the resources deployed by the services to help find Cormac.
“The weather conditions have been inclement but still so many people have been working to find him. It’s been unbelievable to see the amount of support and the numbers of people making sacrifices for us to help us,” Mr. Clare told the Leader.
On behalf of wife Lorraine and Cormac’s brothers Donal (20) and Eoin (11), he also thanked the media for publicising the disappearance.
“We have no idea why he left. It’s causing huge anxiety in the area.
“We just want him back and we realise that if he had a reason to leave it might help the search in a certain direction.
“If anybody knows anything, anything at all we’d appeal to them to come forward and there will be repercussions of any kind, whatsoever, no matter what.
“If you think you know something, have the courage to make the call.
“Any piece of information will be followed up. We can’t rest, it’s just very hard when it your son, your child,” added Seamus.
