Clane man on drugs charge

Insurance mix-up led to court appearance.

Insurance mix-up led to court appearance.

A CLANE man has agreed to pay a contribution to the Court Poor Box after he pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful possession.

Sean Healy, whose address is listed as Loughanure, Clane was caught on February 12 last at Abbeylands, Clane with an amount of cannabis.

Representing him, Arthur Dennehy told the court that his client is 19 years of age and is a student at NUI Maynooth who hoped to travel for work once he had graudated..

“Young people like yourself Sean play an important role in the drugs trade. The person who sold you the cannabis isn’t in court, is he?” Judge Desmond Zaidan said.

And he added that drugs would destroy him, if he continued to take them.

It was agreed that he would pay €450 to the court poor box.
