The Curragh Lourdes Fund was founded in 2010 by a commitee of serving members and ex-members of the Defence Forces and this year will bring kids from St Annes Special Needs School in the Curragh to Lourdes next May.
On the night there will be celebrity judges such as Anthony Rainbow, dancing by the Leah Moran school of Dance, a DJ and food and refreshments.

There will also be an exhibition match by Irish boxing champion Ross Hickey
The commitee organising the initial trip last year included Col John Courtney (retired), Philip Coy, Billy Bohane, Peter Origan, Tom Mullin, Mick Stynes, Fr PJ Summers and Denis Goff. Its initial aim was to bring 13 kids and parents from Enable Ireland to Lourdes on the annual military pilgrimage. “It was an amazing success and life changing experience for everyone involved,” said committee member Billy Bohane
“Because it was such a succes we decided to give it one more go and plan for May 2013, this time bringing kids from St Annes special needs school Curragh and serving members with children with terminal illnesses. Each place cost around E700.”
