A successful awards day was held at Platinum Clubhouse, the Newbridge support centre for people with mental heath difficulties, last Friday.

Members and staff hosted the event to celebrate the clubhouse’s evolution, growth and success which included a fourth accreditation for the Cultery Road facility.

“Platinum Clubhouse provides peole with mental health difficulties support to reintroduce themselves back into their communities, through employment, education and social activities,” said Carmel Keenan of the Clubhouse.

“Over the years it has become a vital service in the Newbridge area for adults who have experienced mental health difficulties.”

The EVE program offered by the Clubhouse offers members a safe haven to get involved in the running of the clubhouse but also it supports members in their everyday lives and activites and needs such as education, independent living skills and employment.

“But it is more than that, it is a welcoming place, a hive of activity with a positive future focus, helping people have the quality of life they deserve.”
