A unique ground breaking album featuring Kildare’s top artists will be launched on November 1 in aid of Caragh National School, writes Niamh O’Donoghue.

Titled “A Bunch Of Lillies”, all the contributing artists are from the county. The money will be used for the purchase of I.T. equipment, special needs requirements and transport to sports events. The album is the brainchild of the school’s parents council.

“Almost without exception, those asked were only too glad to help. It was humbling for the committee to find, that those “Stars”, some of whom have graced the great stages around the world, were so approachable and so kind, ” explained Danny Slevin, one of the organisers.

The album features Luka Bloom, Jack L, Michael English, Mick Foster, Johnny Peters, Phillip English Pam Jackson, Des Hopkins and the Cluskey Hopkins Band, The Shift, Declan Aungier, Gerry McCormack, Sorcha Lavelle Walsh, The Caragh National School Choir, Jacinta O Donnell and Pat Whelan.

Local girl and world renowned sorprano, Celine Byrne has contributed a stunning track called “For Eternity”.

Many of the artists will appear at the launch which begins at 8:30pm in Cookes Lounge in Caragh. A great night is guaranteed and admission is free. The album will be on sale locally and costs E10. People can also email abunchoflillies@gmail.com to order a copy.

“This address can be used for contacts regarding postal sales to anywhere in the world,” added Danny.
