Drug services are among the many services to be provided at a planned primary care centre in Kilcock, writes Henry Bauress.
On 30 June, Kildare County Councillors unanimously decided to approve the contravention of the Kilcock Local Area Plan to enable the HSE to develop a Primary Care Centre on the Bawnogues Kilcock.
Welcoming the decision, Susan Bookle, a spokesperson for the Integrated Services Programme, which is working on community development, said the new care facility is seen as central due to the rapid growth of Kilcock.
Ms. Bookle told the Leinster Leader it is expected that the centre will coordinate a range of health professionals at local level, including: GPs, public health nurses, social workers, community mental health services, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, drugs services and home help.
Ms. Bookle addedthat ISP’s Fergus Fenlon is working with the Kilcock Community Network, the HSE and Kildare County Council with a view to progressing community developments on the Bawnogues.
