Gardai questioned three over the death.

Gardaí investigating the death of 64 year old Edenderry man Thomas (Toddy) Dooley arrested and questioned three men yesterday morning, Tuesday, June 10.

The three were released later that day without charge and a file will be sent to the DPP

Mr. Dooley’s body was found at his home 16th of February last in the estate known as Sister Senan Court. Gardai immediately knew that his death was not of natural causes.

The victim was well known to be quiet and inoffensive, and his death shocked locals in the town.

The three men who were arrested were a 23 year old male and two 19 year olds.

They were detained at Portlaoise Garda Station and Tullamore Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
