Theives cut a hole in the roof of pub to target cash on Sunday, June 22 at 2.45am in Athy writes Paula Campbell.

Thieves cut the hole in the roof of Paddy Dunnes pub in Woodstock St in Athy and two intruders entered the premises. Two cash tills were stolen in the raid with an estimated value of €700 in both tills. The alarm was set off as the intruders entered the premsies and gardai are currently examining CCTV footage of the incident.

Athy gardai are appealing for any information to the raid.

Meanwhile a house garage was raided in Castledermot on Saturday, 21 between 1pm and 1.30pm. The double doors of the garage were forced open and tools and two bikes to the value of €1,400 were stolen in the raid. A red Volkswagon Transporter van was seen being driven suspiciously in the area at the time. If you have any information on the raid or the van contact Athy Gardai.
