March 27th saw St. Farnan’s Post Primary host its annual Scifest at School competition.

All second years participated in the event. In groups or as individuals, forty eight science projects were entered into the event. Projects included were from Biological and Life Sciences, Chemical and Physical Sciences and Technology. Judge on the day, CEO of Scifest, Shiela Porter remarked that the projects at St. Farnan’s are always of a high standard and are improving each year. Ten projects of the forty eight were selected to represent St. Farnan’s in Carlow IT this month. This year marked the first year that students of the JCSP programme got involved in the project and one of these groups also succeeded in progressing to Carlow IT. All the projects went on display in the school and are a credit to the students and teachers involved. The Science Department and everyone in St. Farnan’s wish each of the ten groups every success as they represent the school in the next stage of the competition.
