On April 3, Piper’s Hill College had its first team in the AIB Build a Bank National Finals.

“The Pied Pipers” Team sailed through their regional finals earlier in March and have been preparing for the biggest day in their banking year up till now.

The team, consisting of TY Students: Stephen Smith, Riona Madden, Sarah Biggs, Bianca Tampu, Amy Carey and Emma Lardner, journeyed to the RDS in Dublin where they underwent three rounds of judging before being chosen in the top six of all 28 teams present. They then had to present a PowerPoint and bank summary in four minutes in front of their fellow bankers and complete an Open Forum Q&A before patiently awaiting the final three to be chosen.

Meanwhile the Original Rude Boys performed to the crowd until the judges returned with their verdict. The Pied Pipers were then successfully chosen as the second place winners in the All-Ireland AIB Build A Bank Challenge, earning a One 4 All voucher for each bank member and €3,000 for their school.

Doubtlessly these students, their parents and school are extremely proud of their achievement, in coming second overall out of almost 200 school bank teams nationwide. Piper’s Hill will with no doubt be looking for a similar success next year.
