Naas Care of the Aged were declared the 2012 Rehab People of the Year at the 23rd annual award ceremony on Friday night in the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge.

The event served up glitz, glamour, good humour and inspiration in equal measure as the people of Kildare honoured their heroes.

The work of community representatives from all over the county, in business, the arts, charity, carers and tidy towns was highlighted and applauded.

Naas Care of the Aged runs a daycare centre and dozens of activities and supports for the elderly of Naas and further afield.

Speaking to the Leinster Leader briefly after their win, they said they were delighted to have won, especially seeing as it was “so unexpected”.
