Minister Frances Fitzgerald was due to visit Monasterevin yesterday, Monday April 28 to meet with community groups to discuss proposals for a youth cafe.
Her visit will also mark the official launch of local FG candidate, Richard O’Rourke’s campaign.
The Minister was due to meet with the members of Monasterevin Youth Action (MYA) in the CWMS Hall. The main objective of MYA is the provision of a youth café and other services for the young people of the town. This group of young people have become very active in recent months in their efforts to progress this aim. The members are Jenny Byrne, Adam Hennessy, April Redmond, Roisin Hall, Katie Krebs, Savannah Muller, Moses Eribo, Alina Tee, Jamie Colgan, Sean O’ Neill, Kons Sitenkovs, Shannen O’ Keeffe, Gemma Smith, Dean Maher, Nikita Weldon and Robert Finglas.
The Minister was also due to meet Monasterevin Community Centre committee and members of Kildare Youth Services who are supporting MYA in their campaign to secure this facility for Monasterevin. See full details in next week’s paper.
