Students in Kildare have been collecting their Leaving Cert results from secondary schools across the county this morning.

Some 2,465 examination candidates, 1,175 women and 1,290 men, are due to receive their Leaving Cert results today.

A further 127 students are due to receive Leaving Cert Applied results.

Nearly 57,000 candidates across the country sat the Leaving Certificate last June. This is an increase of 2.4% on last year’s figures.

The National Parents Council (Post-Primary) is operating a helpline for students and parents today. The helpline number is 1800 265165.

Students who wish to view their marked scripts should apply through their schools. The closing date for receipt of completed application forms for this is Tuesday, August 19.

Candidates who wish to appeal a result must have their applications with the State Examinations Commission by 5pm on Wednesday, September 3.

The first round of CAO offers will be made on Wednesday, August 18.

See next week’s Leinster Leader for a special report and photos on Leaving Cert Results 2014 in Kildare.
