olympic gold medalist Katie Taylor will light up Whitewater Shopping Centre on Sunday November 18 from 12pm to 4pm, alongside Santa Clause in what promises to be a thrilling festive fanfare to turn on the Christmas Lights.

The lights at the popular Whitewater Shopping Centre in Newbridge will be the only Christmas lights that the Olympic Gold medallist will officially turn on this year and the centre is planning a wonderful event on the day to welcome Katie with family activities, prizes, illuminated snowmen, the arrival of Santa Claus on his sleigh to his magical new grotto with large costumed characters for children including the Tallest Elf ever, The Christmas Gringe, Snowman, Pengiun, Gingerbread man, Holly Berry, Elfs, Reindeers and lots of festive fun.

On August 9 this year, Ireland became a collective heartbeat as people stopped in their tracks to watch the Irish lightweight boxer Katie Taylor become an Olympic champion at London 2012. The remarkable victory has ranked in as the ninth Olympic gold medal in Ireland’s history,

Whitewater shopping centre are thrilled that Katie will be their very special guest this year and shoppers will get a chance to meet our most popular Olympic champion of all time.

The centre promises to be a winter wonderland this Christmas with ‘stunning illuminated snowmen and a magical Santa’s Grotto with visiting characters and festive family attractions’.
