A €427,242 grant under the Rural Development Programme has been approved for the Salesian ACRE Project, an eco-friendly community facility in Celbridge.
Minister Phil Hogan announced 19 June he has given sanction to County Kildare Leader Partnership to approve the funding to The ACRE Project.
The funding is being provided under the Basic Services for the Economy and Rural
Population measure of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
Announcing the funding Minister Hogan said:
Minister Hogan said it will be of immense benefit to Celbridge and North Kildare and the project will now go back to the Board of County Kildare Leader Partnership for final approval.
“This is in line with the EU’s ‘’bottom-up’’ approach to rural development.”
Project spokesperson, Michael McCann said they expect Kildare Leader would issue a contract for ACRE to sign within the monthy and that construction would begin soon, but no realistically before 1 August.
