Funeral details released for Castledermot farmer who died in freak accident

The funeral details have been released for the Castledermot farmer who died in a tragic farm accident on Tuesday night (February 25).

Michael Kenny of Ballinacarrig will be reposing at his home today. He will be brought to the Church of the Assumption, Castledermot tomorrow, Saturday morning at 11.15am to arrive for requiem mass at 12 noon followed by interment to Moone Cemetery.

It’s understood Mr. Kenny went out to check on his livestock at around midnight on Tuesday, when he stumbled over something on the ground, and fell on to the fork of the tractor injuring his neck. It’s believed he made it back to his home, where his family contacted an ambulance. However, the father of three died from his injuries.

Mr. Kenny is deeply regretted by his loving wife Breda, sons Arron, Brian, Owen. sisters, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts Sr. Anna,and Carmel, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of friends and neighbours.
