A former Leeds United goalkeeper appeared at Naas District Court today, Friday, February 28 after Gardai executed a six year old warrant for his arrest.
Eddie Van Boxtel was one of several men arrested in February 2008 at Castlewarden, Sallins and was charged at the time with alleged drugs offences.
He appeared before Judge Patrick Clyne today where his solicitor Conal Boyce made an application for bail.
Detective Sgt. Greg Sheehan of the National Drugs Squad alleged that Mr. Van Boxtel had a photocopy of a passport bearing his photograph, but a different name, on his person when arrested.
He was remanded in custody back to Naas District Court next Wednesday, March 6.
