Gardai carried out raids on two houses last night.

Kildare have reported seizing a large quantity of drugs in the Bishopsland are of the town yesterday evening, April 18.

It was one of two houses in the county searched by Gardai that night.

As part of an ongoing operation by Gardai attached to the Kildare Crime/Drugs Unit assisted by the Regional Support Unit a house at Bishopsland was searched and cocaine with a street value of €60,000, cannabis herb with a street value of €20,000 and E tabletswith a street value of €10,000 were discovered.

All values for the drugs are subject to analysis.

One 25 year old man was arrested and is being detained at Newbridge Garda Station.

Later on the evening of the April 18, Gardai searched a dwelling at Bell Harbour, Monasterevin and discovered an estimated €10,000 worth of cannabis resin.

One male was arrested there and is also being detained at Newbridge Garda Station.
