AWARD winner, Margaret Daniels, captured the mood well at Leixlip Town Council’s final Civic Awards night last Thursday when she sung Scarlet Ribbon.

A one time Royalette and natural stage performer, Margaret received a Good Neighbour award along with Margaret Maguire and Marguerite Devine. “I had a figure like a drink of water,” said Ms. Daniels, who recalled performing with the late Jimmy O’Dea,

Paul Cronin, a US based banker with the HSBC bank, received the Non Resident award. He and his family have moved to Connecticut after living in Chicago for 20 years.

The Cultural award went to the Ist/10th Kildare Scouts Group.

Ewan Wood and Callan O’Boye received a Youth Award for their role in a campaign for a bike park in St. Catherine’s, Leixlip. Another Young Person award recipient was Anthony Coyne,.

Niall Watkins received the Business award and former Kildare GAA footballer, Ronan Quinn, received the Sporting award. John Colganreceived an award for his role in the political arena.
