Celbrige’s Galvin gets first count quota

Ciara Galvin, the young Celbridge woman who was hoping to be elected to the Labour Party’s MEP substitute panel in the Midlands North West constituency has been successfully elected.

Ms. Galvin passed the quota on the first count and came second out of five candidates on the ballot at the Labour Party’s selection convention on Sunday afternoon last, February 21.

Having worked as a Nessa Childer’s parliamentary assistant Brussels for some time, Ms. Galvin is already familiar with European project.

She is a graduate of NUI Maynooth and is now studying for a masters degree in UCD in Public Policy, specialising in European Policy.

This is Ms. Galvin’s first foray into electoral politics although she has been a n active member of the Labour Party for some years.
