Celbridge volunteer passes away

THE death took place on 22 June of Geraldine Reidy Commons, a member of a well known Celbridge business family, at Blackrock hospice in Dublin.

She was involved in many community organisations including the local Insight Theatrre group, Care for the Aged and enjoyed the big Chrismas food parcel delivery run as well as various other activities throughout the year.

Ger met the love of her life, Larry Commons, at a wedding in Wicklow, and went on to marry him in Celbridge. They have two beautiful sons together, Jack (15) and Brian (13).

As her children grew so did her work with the local sports group and the GAA and soccer clubs provided Ger with a guard of honour at her funeral. Ger was only in her mid 40's and will be sorely missed by her parents, Mary and Mick, whom she loved deeply.

Her mother in law, Kay, was a close friend as were all Lar's family.

She will be also be missed by her brothers and sisters, Michael, Fergal, Maura, Olwyn, Paul and Eileen, her newphews in Celbridge, Mark, Sean and Dave Keenan, Alan Reidy and her favourite niece on whom she doted, two-year-old, Lucy Walshe.
