The Carers Association are holding their annual run as part of Newbridge town’s JuneFest.

Care to Run will consist of both a 10K and 5k in Newbridge on Sunday 25 May at 11am from Ryston Sports and Social Club.

This event is a one size fits all, making it suitable for serious athletes, novice runners, families, joggers and walkers.

Participants will be representing The Carers Association as well as their favourite charity or club, as this unique event provides a wonderful opportunity to every local charity or voluntary organisation in County Kildare and the surrounding counties to raise much needed funds.

The AAI approved route starts and finishes at Ryston Club, setting off through the heart of Main Street, Newbridge and continues onto the Curragh Plains. “We’re delighted to be part of the exciting calendar of JuneFest this year and we are very grateful to our sponsors Lidl, Leinster Leader and Kildare Sports Partnership,” said Anne Flynn, Regional Manager of the Carers Association.

“Also thanks to Newbridge Athletic Club for assisting us with this event and to Ryston Sports and Social Club who have very kindly offered the use of their facilities for the day. This is also an ideal opportunity to get some training in for the Dublin Ladies mini marathon.”

Each successful participant will receive a race pack at the finish line for their efforts and there are fantastic prizes also. Timing chips will be used for recording the times. The Carers Association would be delighted to send a sponsorship card to anyone wishing to raise funds on their behalf. If you wish to raise funds for another charity please make contact with your chosen charity to receive a sponsorship card.

Registration forms are available each week in the Leinster Leader - see page 90..
