Booking the cooks at Maynooth Educate Together

Maynooth Educate Together National School (METNS) recently launched a special cookbook, with recipes from all over the world.

THE school has just over two hundred pupils.

They include representatives of 30 different nationalities.

An added bonus from attending the launch was that numerous tastes from the cookbook were available to those attending.

According to NUI Maynooth anthropologist and joint chairperson of the school’s board, Dr. Tanya Cassidy,”Cooking Together: recipes of the world” shares the experience of cooking together at home with a collection of recipes from every corner of the globe.

Dr. Cassidy, who has a special interest in food anthropology, said hope the recipes will awaken the joy of cooking and bring families together.

Both staff and pupils contributed.

At the launch of the book, it appeared that pupils opted for more of the recipes favoured by sweet tooth fans.

Readers may find themselves drooling uncontrollably but, unfortunately nowhere near a kitchen.

We will all be grateful to Brian Moran, from junior infants, for his “Fatless Cream Cake” recipe.

Compiled by the pupils and staff of METNS, all of the proceeds will go to the school to directly benefit the children of METNS.

The cookbook, well designed by Noel Anderson, contains a great table on measurements. It will be available for purchase through METNS as well as local bookstores.

The 248 page book has over two hundred recipes will be widely available at €10
