Stage Academy, who recently scooped an All Ireland Variety win hosted a red carpet screening of the performance at the Odeon Cinema on Monday, April 7.

The performance, which was directed by Brenda Malone and Paula Connlaan, hit the big screen in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.

“This VIP Red Carpet Screening was a fantastic opportunity for the people of Newbridge to see the winning Performance,” said Paula who runs the school.

“The students were very excited about seeing their performance in the cinema. and delighted that this screening is in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. It was a most memorable occasion with special Invited guest Lord Mayor of Newbridge Mick Deely.”

After the screening there was a short live performance from some of the stage academy students.

Stage Academy travelled to Kilarney last March where they won the Variety Title on Friday, March 7 last.

A talented crew of 96 youngsters, under the direction of Paula Conlon and Brenda Malone, picked up a staggering five awards on the night including Best Coral Number (Elbow) - Best Drama/Comedy Award (Mirror Ballet) – Most Creative/Original Award (Elbow) - Star of the Future (Ellen Dowse) – Best Overall Variety.
