Naas Credit Union will seek approval from its members to open a branch in Newbridge at its AGM on Tuesday, December 17, next, writes Paula Campbell.
A CU spokesperson said that it had been “inundated with inquiries” from people from Newbridge looking to open an account with Naas Credit Union (CU) in the wake the recent collapse of Newbridge CU. A proposal has been lodged with the Central Bank to extend the common bond area to Newbridge. However approval from Naas CU members is also required.
The chairperson of Naas CU, Peter Fullam said: “Naas CU will seek approval from its members for a rule change which would enable the extension of the common bond to include the Newbridge area.”
