The original santa suit from the 1947 Hollywood classic movie ‘Mircale on 34th street’ will be on display at Newbridge Silverware Museum of Style Icons until Monday, January 6, 2014.
The most magical piece of movie memorabilia, the original red santa suit worn by the merry Kris Kringle will be a rare opportunity to see an original piece from the classic Christmas movie.
This 1947 classic tale also stars the flamed haired sliver screen legend, and recent ambassador for Newbridge Silverware Maureen O’Hara, who is now in her 90s.
Maureen caused quite a stir locally when she visited Newbridge Silverware back in late 2011.
Fans queued out the door to meet her and she even found herself in a duet in the Keadeen Hotel with lifelong fan and Musical Director Owen C Lynch of Newbridge Musical Society who was lucky enough to meet the Hollywood star.
“I was starstruck for the first time in my life,” said Owen, who then serenaded her with a Percy French number, which was quickly followed by a duet.
“She thanked us for our beautiful performance and told us how much she enjoyed our singing.”
Meanwhile Santa Claus will also be paying a visit to the showroom every Saturday and Sunday from now until Christmas from 12 to 3pm.
