KILDARE County Council is planning legal action in connection with the open lands in Celbridge between the OPW lands and land near houses in Castletown estate.
As the OPW will soon put in a planning application in relation to the land it controls, KCC’s Director of Services, said there would be enforcement procedures against unauthorised developments in the area. Mr. Minnock said there was €1.8m finance in jeopardy for Castletown. He said they wanted to protect the estate.
Mr. Minnock also said the Council would wait to see what the planning application holds.
Moves to resolve various issues fell apart some time ago when a so called Part 8 plan to develop the area was not agreed.
One problem affecting the area is the use of the land by scrambler bike users, Cllr. John McGinley told the meeting. Cllr. Senan Griffin said the area needed to be protected from anti social behaviour.
