Kilcullen’s run in the Celebrity Bannisteoir television series has come to an abrupt and early end after they were beaten on Sunday afternoon writes Conor McHugh.
Brenda Donoghue’s side took on Dana Rosemary Scallon’s Lissan, from Derry at the Kildare club’s grounds.
It was a close game throughout with the two sides separated by a point until the last few minutes when the northerners pulled ahead.
Despite the fact Kilcullen that were four points up at half time, things went awry for them in the second half and the game ended with a score of 2-09 to 2-06 in favour of Lissan.
The club’s Henry Barret admitted that it was a disappointing outcome for the club.
Now in its fourth series, ‘Celebrity Bainisteoir’ involves eight well-known personalities battle it out as managers of clubs from all over the country.
