Speed dating world record attempt at Punchestown

A call has gone out to all Kildare singletons to help break the world record during the Punchestown week for the number of people taking part in a speed dating event.

A call has gone out to all Kildare singletons to help break the world record during the Punchestown week for the number of people taking part in a speed dating event.

Bookies Ladbrokes is organising the record-breaking attempt on Thursday April 26, the second-last day of the National Hunt Festival.

Single men and women can pre-register at www.punchestown.com/ladbrokesdate to get a place at the table. They’re promised a three-minute date from hundreds of eligible participants looking for love - or even just a bit of craic!

There will also be a complimentary general admission ticket, a €5 Ladbrokes betting voucher, and a free glass of bubbly for all taking part.

Ladbrokes and Punchestown have to get over 435 people to take part to beat the current world record-holders, an event held in Johannesburg, South Africa, last year.

Shona Dreaper of Punchestown said many romances have blossomed at the Kildare racetrack over the years. “We are looking forward to welcoming the cream of Irish singles to Punchestown and while we can’t guarantee love we can guarantee a brilliant day out. So round up the troops, be brave and register today because you never know who you could meet!”

Republic of Telly star Jennifer Maguire is weighing in to help wit her speed dating tips, which can be viewed at http://www.facebook.com/LadbrokesIreland.
