Three arrests in Kilmeade tiger kidnapping

Gardai in Kildare investigating the attempted abduction of a security company employee and his wife and two-year-old son on the morning of April 27 last at 5am at Kilmeade, Co Kildare have arrested three men in connection with the incident, writes Lisa Deeney.

They were arrested in Dublin this morning, January 10. Two are in their late 30s and are being detained in Naas and Newbridge Garda stations, and one is in his late 40s is being detained in Leixlip Garda station. All are being detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 as amended.

Last April, four armed and masked men attempted to take the family hostage. A panic alarm was activated and the raiders fled the scene on foot. They left behind a white van. Gardai believe the raiders may have been picked up by a car nearby.
