Clongowes Wood College has consistently ranked in the top four secondary schools in Ireland over the last eight years according to The Sunday Times Parent Power surveys.
A separate table published by the newspaper last weekend based on the average number of pupils gaining access to the nine universities in Ireland from 2009 to 2011 ranked Clongowes as the top Kildare school at 15th nationwide. Newbridge College came in 78th, Maynooth Post Primary School was in 84th, St. Wolstan’s Communit School, Celbridge ranked 134th while St Mary’s College, Naas came in 137th. Salesian College, Celbridge followed in 183rd. Confey Community College, Leixlip followed in 231st with Leixlip Community School coming in 244th followed by Meanscoil Iognaid Ris, Naas in 254th. Other schools to feature in the top 400 in Ireland also included Scoil Dara, Kilcock; Holy Family Secondary School, Newbridge; Cross and Passion College, Kilcullen; Scoil Mhuire, Clane; and the Patrician Secondary School, Newbridge.
