DESPITE the embargo on hiring staff in the public service, Kildare County Council is seeking to employ engineers.
However, the recruitment drive may not lead to an immediate start date as the positions are to fill a panel and they can only be hired for a particular project if the Department of Environment gives the go ahead.
In response to queries, a spokesperson for Kildare County Council said: “The recruitment is to form a panel from which we may recruit resident engineers for site work on the water services capital investment programme as schemes are approved and sanction is received from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government to recruit the necessary staff.”
The ad seeks two civil engineers and a mechanical and electrical engineer with extensive experience of supervising major water/waste water capital projects. The salaries on offer range from €59,680 to €68,030. A yearly site allowance of up to €7,800 to cover travel and subsistence costs incurred. The latest date for receipt of applications is this Friday November 4.
