LEIXLIP Youth and Community Centre, the volunteer run body, will have to look for alternative sources of income following rental income loss from Leixlip Town Council.
hairman, Cllr, Joe Neville, told the LYPG agmthe Centre had another successful year and thanked the staff, volunteers and others for their support.
The Centre received grant aid from Pobal, €34,421 in 2013, funding two part-time admin and one caretaker. Pobal, a charitable organisation, manages funds on behalf of the Government.
Cllr. Neville said from a financial perspective he was happy and the LYCC had effectively broken even, losing €23,568 (€7,875 in 2012)..
Soon tolose the Town Council (LTC) as a tenant it faces significant challenges,is seeking a new tenant and needs to raise money. LTC paid a lot of the €38,676 in rent, which is a large part of the €112,000 income.
The Centre employs four staff, at a cost of €70,000.
Spending was €137,511 ( €123,185 in 2012), leaving a loss of around €23,568 (€7,875 in 2012).
