THE 4th Kildare Naas Scouts Group are organising a gathering on Kerdiffstown House grounds near Naas on Wednesday June 22 next.

Inspired by the Gathering 2013, they are hoping that adults who were involved or are still involved with Naas Scouts over the years will come and relive old memories.

Some local hotels have agreed special rates for those who will attend, but there is also a facility for the more adventurous ones to camp out overnight.

Among the main features of the day will be organised games, a talk on the history of the Scouts by local historian Stan Hickey, a BBQ and campfire songs. Overnight camping is optional and the event is free.

Tea and coffee is available but if you want anything stronger you will have to bring it yourself.

If this photo or others in the history section of this week’s paper (see page 35) include you, or they bring back some nostaligic memories you should email naasscoutsreunion@gmail.com or call 085-7088830.

There will be lots more photos on display at the campsite. It will be a great event for mixing with new and old scouts and leaders, past and present. The Naas scouts wereformed in 1946 and initially there were two groups.
