This year’s Junefest, which takes place from May 30 until June 8 next, will have 29 events on offer over two weekends with involvement from the very young to the very old.
“There are walks, talks, songs, arts and most importantly laughter,” said PRO Terry Moore.
“ We will be running around the town with the Carers Association to help them raise their most needed funds.”
Live music is alway high on the list for Junefest and this year it is no secret that both Damian Dempsey and Christy Moore will play.
“We will hear Damien Dempsey in Moorefield and Christy Moore and King Modo in the Patrician Secondary School,” she added. We will see photos from three decades, an art installation by Kieran Behan and moreexhibitions from our wonderful artists. We will laugh at the comedy gig and we will honour those who died in the First World War. We will walk the Curragh and walk around the town remembering the 50s and 60s. And of course we will have a wonderful family day, bring your picnic and enjoy the Irish Guide Dogs Newbridge Philippines Dancers, Tricky Tricksters, Doyle Family singers, The Farrier, Face Painters, PPS Band, Stoney Brook Farm, Dolly Mcs Cupcakes, a choir, to name but a few events.”
The Family day will be held on Sunday, June 1 in Linear Park from 11am onwards.
