James Nolan’s medal haul continues to grow.
On Sunday, August 26, the Kilcullen man took bronze in the 400m race at the British Transplant Games in London.
And last week, at the 7th European Transplant and Dialysis Games in Croatia, the multi-award winning butcher won a gold for his Golf Net Score, a bronze medal in the 200m sprint as well as winning a silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay race.
On July 25 James celebrated the 25th anniversary of his living kidney transplant from his sister Catherine in 1987.
Mr. Nolan has participated in all of the Transplant games since first attending them in Hungary in 2002, and has won medals or placed highly in most of them.
Most of the Irish athletes from the Transplant Games arrived home on Saturday. With a medal haul that include 14 Gold, 15 Silver and 21 Bronze, Ireland was in third place overall behind France and Slovenia out of 28 participating nations.
