Amy Huberman, the nation’s sweetheart, was unveiled as the new face of Newbridge Silverware on Friday.
The acomplished actress, author, wife to rugby star Brian O’Driscoll and new mum, was chosen to join the ranks of some of the silver screen’s most timeless leading women inlcuding Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo and Maureen O’Hara.
“It is such an honour to be asked to be the face of Newbridge Silverware,” she said, speaking from the Museum of Style Icons on Friday.
“I’m humbled to be in this line up - as an actress to be amongst such sliver screen greats - I am pinching myself.”
Amy, who is a self confessed fan of ‘pretty things’, said she was most partial to earrings, especially the drop down variety.
“I am a big fan of earrings,” she said. “The drop down earrings especially but I like it all.”
The Clinic actress, who is heading to Australia tomorrow (Saturday) with her baby daughter Sadie to join Brian on the Lions Tour, will take a Newbridge Silverware hip flask with her as a good luck charm.
“I might need it to keep warm when I’m down there watching from the sidelines,” she said.
“I’m heading over with Sadie so it will be an adventure. Although I wish I had my own Dorothy slippers to go click and just be there rather than having to face the journey but it will all be fine.”
