Andrew Dempsey of 79 Anne Street, Prosperous was arrested on March 31, 2012 at Anne Street.

A reading of 73 milligrams of alcohol per 100 mililitres of breath was recorded. Acting for him, Tony Hanahoe said his client was 28 years of age and had previous convictions for drugs and larceny, but that he was now in a steady relationship with two children, aged seven and eight. “The loss of his license will be a handicap.”

He was fined E250 and disqualified for three years, which was deferred for three months.
