The family of a 21 year old Blessington, Co. Wicklow man missing in Poland since Saturday, June 16, have appealed for information on his whereabouts.
James Nolan, an engineering student, was last seen in the town of Bydgoszcz in the early hours of Saturday morning. Wearing a white t-shirt with a picture of Chuck Norris, dark blue jeans and grey runners, he had been drinking in a bar with about ten friends when he disappeared at about 1.30am. The friends had been staying in campsites locally and have remained in Bydgoszcz to help with the search. His family say it is completely out of character for James not to contact home, and they are appealing for anyone with information to some forward.
The voluntary Irish Fans Embassy in Poznan have launched a leaflet drop in and around the old market square in the town, hoping that some of the thousands of fans may have seen him.
Missing person messages and alerts have been circulated on social media including Facebook and Twitter and the Polish missing persons agency Itaka has also been drafted in by the Department of Foreign Affairs to escalate the search. His photograph was also displayed yesterday evening on big screens in the fanzone area of Poznan.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Irish Embassy in Poland on 00 48 692 495 692 or email Trace Missing Persons Ireland at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 085-1097526.
