The owner of a winning €250,000 Lotto Plus Two ticket that was sold at the Card n’ Things newsagent in Newbridge’s Dunnes Stores Shopping Centre has not yet come forward to claim his or her prize fund.

The owner of a winning €250,000 Lotto Plus Two ticket that was sold at the Card n’ Things newsagent in Newbridge’s Dunnes Stores Shopping Centre has not yet come forward to claim his or her prize fund.

The National Lottery confirmed that the 32 Multi Draw ticket was sold on March 23 last, and the ticket was picked from the draw held on Wednesday, April 4 last.

Trish Tartaglia, manager of Cards n’ Things, said it was their first winning ticket in six years of running the store.

“It’s fantasic,” she said. “We are absolutely thrilled. We are dying to know who bought it from us. The ticket rolls over for the next month so they might not check it for a month.

“We have all the bunting up to celebrate. This has been a very lucky week for Kildare with the big lotto win in Kildare Town at the weekend.

“It’s great and hopefully it will come in sixes or even nines.”

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said that the winning ticket will continue to be entered in a total of eight draws.

“As it is a Multi Draw ticket it will be entered in eight draws over four weeks,” she said. “These tickets are useful if you are going on holiday and like to play the same numbers every week. The ticket holder has 90 days to collect his or her prize money.”

Last week Kildare Town hit the lotto headlines when lucky winner Giustina Macari scooped €5.7 million in the weekend draw.

The Kildare Town native checked her ticket on Sunday, April 1 but thankfully it was no April’s Fool.

“I thought it was a big prank,” she told the Leader last week. “I still can’t believe it.”
