ST. Vincent’s Hospital in Athy has received approval for registration for the next three years from the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA)
Kildare South Fine Gael TD Martin Heydon has received confirmation in the past week.
June 30th is the deadline for registration of designated centres for older people including all public, private and voluntary centres with the authority. Registration confirms that St Vincent’s Hospital meets the standards required of HIQA to provide its level of care and service and is vindication of all the hard work put in by so many.
“This is good news which secures the future of St Vincents. I want to pay tribute to all of the staff and management of the hospital on the high standard and excellent care it has given to its residents over the years. Today’s announcement follows investment in St. Vincent’s which has allowed it to reach the standards set down by HIQA. “I have consistently lobbied since before my election to Dail Eireann that St Vincents Hospital is of critical importance to the greater Athy area. This registration now confirms that the excellent service provided in St Vincents will continue into the future,” concluded Deputy Heydon.
