Over 600 music fans flocked to Tesco in Maynooth last Saturday November 19 to get a glimpse of pop sensations One Direction.

The former X Factor stars were whisked into the north Kildare town at 12 noon for two hours of signings. Fans had queued to buy the new album, Up All Night, at the store the day before to get the prized wrist band which would gain them access on Saturday. There were only 600 available and as the One Direction Mania spread, large queues formed with fans travelling from all over Kildare and Dublin.

There was huge excitement on Saturday and the place was mobbed. Niall, Harry, Louis, Zayn and Liam released their latest single, Gotta be You, last week. Niall who hails from Mulligar, tweeted on Saturday “Tesco maynooth! We’ve ireland! (sic) Delighted to be back home” followed by “Maynooth! Amazing, next clarehall ! Gona be epic!”

After his Irish visit was over he tweeted; “Wow Ireland, you were amazing.”
