KILDARE town gardai are seeking information about an attempted robbery on a local barber.

Paul McGann has just left his business premises at Melitta Road, close to Mondello Cross on the outskirts of the town on Wednesday of last week (February 2).

A man produced a knife and apparently attempted to slash the victim at 6.10pm while an accomplice kept watch but didn’t participate in the assault.

A garda spokesman told the Leader that Mr McGann refused to hand over the money and the attackers fled the scene empty handed He added Mr. McGann sustained a cut on the top of his head but was otherwise uninjured and he did not require medical treatment.

Both men were about 5 feet 11 inches tall, aged in their early 20s and wore dark clothing.
