Four people were arrested last week in connection with an armed raid on a Rathangan petrol station on Wednesday January 29.
They were later released, and a file is prepared to be sent to the Director of Prosecutions (DPP).
At approximately 8.50pm, two balaclava clad men, one armed with what appeared to be a firearm, entered the garage shop at Toughers Filling Station.
They threatened staff and demanded they hand over cigarettes and cash.
They left with a small sum of cash and cigarettes in a grey/silver Opel Vectra in the direction of Rathangan village.
Later that evening, a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle was stopped by gardai in Portarlington. The occupants, a man and a woman, were taken in for questioning to Kildare and Newbridge garda stations.
Following that arrest, a search was carried out in the Portarlington area and two more males were arrested. They were taken to Naas and Newbridge garda stations for questioning under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
All four were later released and gardai are currently compiling the case file.
