Men arrested in Leixlip drug raid

Gardai have arrested a man.

A spokesperson said that in an intelligence led operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs detectives from the Garda National Drug Unit carried out a surveillance operation.

A number of follow up searches took place on Wednesday morning, November 27.

Two kilos of Cannabis Herb (€40,000), four kilos of Cannabis resin (€24,000), and a half kilo of powder believed to be cocaine (€105,000), half a kilo of heroin (€75,000) (all subject to analysis) and drug paraphernalia were seized along with over 250 rounds of ammunition and a double barrelled sawn off shotgun.

Two males, 58 and 20 years of age, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Leixlip Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
