The body of a man in his late 20s was recovered from a car submerged in the canal at Kilmeague this morning, Saturday, November 30.

The body of a man in his late 20s was recovered from a car submerged in the canal at Kilmeague this morning, Saturday, November 30.

Gardai in Naas are investigating the single vehicle collision that took place overnight between Friday and Saturday.

The car was discovered submerged in the canal at Newpark at around 10am this morning by a member of the public.

The body of the man was discovered in the car once it was removed from the water.

The remains have been removed to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital and the coroner’s office notified.

Gardaí in Naas are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the canal at Newpark Kilmeage between 7pm on Friday November 29 and the morning of Saturday November 30 to contact them at 045 884300, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
