An application for a dance licence at the Mantra night club in Maynooth has been adjourned to 3 December following Garda concerns over theft issues at the venue.

During an application for a dance lience at Kilcock District Court on 17 September, Garda Inspector Paul Dolan said the Gardai were thinking of objection to exemptions at the night club, which trades under Sheff’s Ltd, due to their concerns over a number of issues.

Asked by Judge Desmond Zaidan what they were, Inspector Dolan said there were issues over the way management at the Mantra were dealing with thefts of mobile phones and other items.

Gardai are requesting the Manatra owners to do more about dealing with these issues.

David Powderly, solicitor representing Sheff, said he would seek an adjournment for his client to deal with the concerns of the Gardai.
