The event is being organised to raise funds for Scoil Mhuire NS, Ballymore Eustace to allow them to assist pupils with special learning needs in particular, to reach their absolute potential. This will be achieved through the purchase of equipment for a multi sensory area along with the provision of extensive interactive media.

The combined 10K and 5K walk/run will allow for serious athletes or Sunday ramblers to participate in an enjoyable community effort to help the children of the School which, like so many other schools throughout the country, has been dealt savage cuts in the past two years.

Principal Mairéad O’Flynn, speaking at the launch said: “We are faced with the situation whereby pupils are back in large classes and the €10,000 maintenance grant will not issue this year. Our children didn’t cause the mess and they can’t afford to wait for a recovery”.

Entrants can: Register online at www.runireland.com or Come to the Resource Centre, Ballymore Eustace, on Saturday, September 29 (7.30- 8pm) or Sunday, September 30 (10.45-11.30am) or Pick up a Registration Form anytime from the School Office.

Cost per entry: €20 for 10K, €15 for 5k and Family Fee €50 (regardless of numbers!)
