Ballytore man’s assault case sent to the Circuit Court

A man who was before Athy District Court on Tuesday, November 27 for allegedly knocking out the four front teeth of another man with a hurley has been sent forward for trial at the current sitting of Naas Circuit Court.

A man who was before Athy District Court on Tuesday, November 27 for allegedly knocking out the four front teeth of another man with a hurley has been sent forward for trial at the current sitting of Naas Circuit Court.

Dean Devereux, with an address listed as Apt 4, Butlers Court, Ballytore, Kildare was arrested on May, 27. 2012 for the alleged assault causing harm during an altercation at Ballytore.

The defendant was remanded on bail with the condition that he has no contact with the alleged injured party or with any other state witnesses.

In a previous court sitting held on Tuesday, September 25 last the court heard that the defendant,, who told gardai he “didn’t do it”, was allegedly involved in the altercation at 2am when the injured party was confronted by the defendant on the street.

He then allegedly knocked out his four front teeth with a hurley stick.

Judge Desmond Zaidan, who refused jurisdiction on the basis that alleged incident was not a minor offence, was shown a photograph of the injured party missing his four front teeth.
