TWO teenage girls had a lucky excape following a road crash on Saturday last.
Two youths received minor injuries after the Kia Sorento in which they were travelling left the road between Two Mile House and Athgarvan shortly after 7.30pm on Saturday evening.
Minutes before 13 year old Amy Carroll and a friend had been walking along the road.
Residents of the Stephenstown area of Two Mile House have been campaigning for a 300 metres section of footpath to be constructed along the road to enhance pedestrian safety.
“We believe this is a dangerous road. It was recently resurfaced by the council and this may only serve to encourage mototrists to drive at higher speeds. The footpath that is already in place needs to be extended to make it safer for people walking,” said resident Paul Carroll.
